Shady-Rest aka The Shadley Francis Cemetery/Homestead was our first real
experience in the field. The team has changed since the good old days, with a
few of us now being members of C.O.R.U.P.T. The investigation into Shady
Rest has since been closed due to the terrible things we experienced and the
friendships that we lost. There really are some terrible places on this planet,
with things for sinister than one's mind could fathom. This old cemetery and
homestead is one of them. We were attacked physically and mentally and very
very emotionally by the Evil that resides in those hills. Not that we didn't have
some good experiences, but we had more bad times that good. I think we all
grew up and grew as investigators. We learned what our limits are and we also
learned what real fear is. It is my hope for those of you who are reading this,
and even for those of you who were with me, I would hope that no one feels the
terror that we once felt EVER! I appreciate what I have now, and mourn what

Shady-Rest sits on a farm. Not far from where we grew up but far enough
away from safety. You go down dirt roads till you cross a bridge. Then you will
find a turn off to the right. There is a small chain that goes across the drive.
You park there and cross the chain. You walk down a path that is surrounded
by trees. To your right you find a barn. It is leaning to one side and has no
walls, just supports. A little further and too your right, there is a house. It used
to be red. To the right of the door hangs a sign, "Tree Farm". That is all it
says in its proud, green, and bold print. Evil lurks in that house. If you watch
the upstairs windows, you will see it. You keep walking on the path. There is
an outhouse, still usable. You must be very careful. There is a spring right
behind the house and if it rains, you have to wade part of the way. You walk
through a small field. There has been a path mowed so you can find your
way. The path quickly turns to the right. There is the slat bridge which BJ will
not touch. You cross, being ever so careful as not to step on a weak board.
The path curves to the left and to your right is a hill. A small fence surrounds
the hill. There above your head hangs a small, white and blue, hand painted
sign. "Shady-Rest Cemetery"
Inside are the resting places of those the evil touched and those of the evil
itself. One double headstone says "From which none ever wake to weep" on
one side and the other says "Asleep in Jesus, blessed asleep". But don't let
that fool you. There is an Evil there greater than your own faith. So leave
now, leave before you become part of the chain.

As CORUPT has grown, we have learned from our mistakes. Many of the
methods we used as the "Lucky 7" at Shady rest were, in a lack of words,
stupid. We were clueless kids. We do not recommend you go about your
